Kelly Mitchell loves to see young people gathering in a purple room. But she really hopes one day to see them hanging out in a purple house.

With that in mind fundraising is underway by the Aidaen Mae Wellness Room. On social media and around town you’ll see signs and messages that read: ‘Raise the purple roof.’

“It’s the idea of supporting our day-to-day expenses here because of course we’re still completely no income, we do everything through fundraising,” Mitchell says about their location at 101 Water Street. Items they fundraise for include food and snacks for youth who come through the door, supplies for activities and events, etc. The majority comes from community donations.
